Wild elephant ‘Omkar’ reappears in Goa after three-month absence

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Dec 2: The wild elephant popularly known as Omkar has resurfaced in Goa nearly three months after his last sighting.

The animal was spotted on Sunday at Fakirpado in Pernem, marking his return to the region. By the morning of December 1, Omkar had moved into Torxem, where he reportedly began damaging local fields and plantations.

Omkar was last seen in early September before wandering into the forested area near the Goa–Maharashtra border.

His reappearance has once again drawn attention from residents and forest authorities, who are monitoring his movements to prevent further crop losses.
