Aamir calls film a ‘Flop’ as Imran Khan makes comeback

Daijiworld Media Network – Mumbai

Mumbai, Dec 3: Bollywood star Aamir Khan has once again proved he is the king of quirky film promotions—this time by joining comedian-actor Vir Das to promote the upcoming spy-comedy Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, which also marks the acting comeback of Imran Khan after nearly 11 years. The film features an ensemble cast including Mithila Palkar, Sharib Hashmi and Mona Singh.

A promotional video featuring Aamir and Vir has gone viral, drawing massive laughs. In the clip, Aamir mock-scolds Vir for calling his film an “action thriller.” “This is a film? You said it’s an action film, spy film, thriller. Where is the action?” Aamir asks, pretending to be unimpressed. When Vir insists that there is action because “there is beating in the film,” Aamir shoots back, “The whole film where you are getting beaten up—that is action?”

The banter escalates as Aamir pokes fun at the film’s romantic angle too. “The one where you get slapped when you meet her—that is romance?” he says, leaving Vir struggling to defend himself. Aamir even jokes about an item number, teasing Vir for unintentionally becoming the film’s “item girl.”

The humour peaks when Aamir bluntly calls the film a “flop,” prompting Vir to take a playful dig at him: “Sir, everyone has a flop. Your Laal Singh…” leading the two into a mock scuffle.

Just then, the rest of the cast walks in and gushes over how “amazing” the film is. Aamir’s tone changes instantly as he beams with pride. “I told him to make a great film. Not a normal film, but a great one. What a great film this is,” he declares, leaving fans in splits.

Imran Khan returns to films after 11 years

Imran Khan, who was last seen in Katti Batti (2015), had stepped away from both cinema and social media. Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos marks his long-awaited return to the big screen. The film is scheduled for release on January 16, 2026, and will clash with Rahu Ketu, starring Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Shalini Pandey and Chunky Panday.

The fun-filled promo has already boosted buzz around Imran’s comeback and Vir Das’s wacky spy adventure.
