Mumbai, Dec 14: Actress Urvashi Rautela has spoken candidly about the intense physical and emotional preparation required for her role in the upcoming supernatural drama Kasoor 2, describing it as one of the most demanding performances of her career.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Red Sea International Film Festival, where she was promoting the film, Rautela revealed that the character pushed her beyond her comfort zone and required complete emotional immersion. In an exclusive interaction with reporters, she said the experience involved long, sleepless nights and deep mental resilience.

“This is a completely new avatar for me,” Urvashi said. “Portraying this character in Kasoor 2 demanded sleepless nights and pushed me to my absolute limits, both emotionally and mentally. The film, presented by Bablu Aziz Barudgar, produced by Asif Shaikh under Practical Production Films and directed by Glen Barretto, has been an intense journey, especially working alongside Aftab Shivdasani and Jassie Gill.”
She added that surrendering to the role was essential to do justice to the character’s complexity. “To truly embody her, I had to completely immerse myself in her vulnerability and intensity. Experiencing this journey and presenting it at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah has been transformative and unforgettable,” she said.
Urvashi was invited to Saudi Arabia to promote Kasoor 2, which is produced by Asif Shaikh under Practical Production Films and directed by Glen Barretto. The film stars Urvashi alongside Aftab Shivdasani and Jassie Gill and serves as a sequel to the 2001 thriller Kasoor, directed by Vikram Bhatt, which featured Aftab Shivdasani and Lisa Ray in lead roles.
Earlier, on his birthday on June 25, Aftab Shivdasani confirmed his return to the franchise by sharing images from the Kasoor 2 sets. In his post, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work on a project close to his heart, calling the film a special milestone in his career.
