Bengaluru, Dec 19: Actress Roshini Prakash has expressed confidence that her upcoming film ‘Mark’ will mark a turning point in her acting career and significantly alter the graph of her cinematic journey.
Speaking about her role, Roshini said she could not reveal much about the character. “I am seen as a police officer alongside Sudeep. Together, we investigate and solve a case, and that case forms the core of the story. This is not similar to the female police role I played opposite Sudeep in ‘Max’. The character portrayal here is very different. We are police officers working in mufti, without uniforms,” she explained.

Elaborating on the importance of her role, she said, “My character appears throughout the film, as much as the story demands. Roughly around 30 per cent of the film revolves around this role. I have mostly worked in content-driven films so far. But doing only such films limits reach. Acting in commercial cinema helps an actor gain wider recognition.”
Sharing her experience of working with Sudeep, Roshini said it was a dream opportunity. “We have all grown up watching Sudeep’s films. Getting a chance to act alongside him is an opportunity that can change the course of one’s career. I learned a lot on this project. I understood his immense passion and commitment towards cinema and got to closely observe his work ethic. Sathyajothi Films is one of the biggest production houses in Tamil cinema, and working with such a banner has been a truly unique experience,” she said.
Reflecting on her recent work, Roshini added, “My previous film ‘Murphy’ gave me a lot of popularity. Even now, people recognise me by that character and approach me. The film reached audiences on a wide scale, and that has opened up many new opportunities. I have played the lead in one segment of ‘Nakuthanti’, a film that narrates four different women-centric stories. Directed by Gautham, the film will hit screens soon. Two more projects are currently in the discussion stage.”
Calling the current year the most successful phase of her career so far, Roshini concluded by saying that she is keen on doing more meaningful and strong films and is eagerly looking forward to the right opportunities.
