St Aloysius University holds Hindi essay writing & speech competitions

Mangaluru, Dec 20: Under the joint auspices of St Aloysius (Deemed University), and Bank of Baroda, Hindi essay writing and speech competitions were organized on December 17. These competitions were held at the Robert Sequeira Auditorium in celebration of World Hindi Day 2026, to be observed on January 10, 2026.

At the inaugural programme of the competitions, the chief guest, Dr Balamurugan, chief manager (Rajbhasha), Bank of Baroda, Mangaluru, stated that Indian languages serve to connect one another. The guest of honor, Jyoti Raj, chief executive officer, Bank of Baroda (VRDF), Mangaluru, encouraged students to initiate start-ups.

The president of the programme, Dr Mukund Prabhu, in his presidential address, remarked that in today’s times, skill is the greatest weapon of life.

The convener of the programme, Dr Mahabubali A Nadaf, welcomed the participants. Jessica Crasta and her team sang the prayer song, while Arpit Shetty conducted the proceedings.

Topic for Hindi essay writing: ‘National Education Policy 2020: Challenges and Opportunities for Students’

Topic for speech competition: ‘Indian Languages as Link Languages’

A total of 40 participants from the university took part in the competitions, making the programme a success.
