Mangaluru, Dec 22: The annual hospital day celebration, Yen Utsav 2025 of Yenepoya Medical College Hospital was held with great enthusiasm at Yendurance Hall, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Deralakatte, Mangaluru, marking a day of celebration, gratitude, and unity among hospital staff and stakeholders.
A key highlight of the event was the felicitation of Yen Mitra and Yen Sahayog partners, recognising their invaluable contribution to the hospital’s growth and healthcare outreach. Individual awardees included Noorulla Khan R (Davangere), Jameer Ahamad Byadgi (Haveri), Javeed Ahmed Godiyal (Haveri), Rahamathunnisa (Deralakatte), and S K Musthafa (Kannur). Partner organisations honoured with the Yen Sahayog Award were Peace Welfare Trust®, Davangere; Sirsi Taluk Minority Education and Welfare Trust®, Sirsi; and Karuvanchal Haritha Charitable Society®, Kannur.





The Hospital Calendar 2026 was officially launched during the event by the dignitaries, symbolising the institution’s commitment to excellence, service, and continuity in patient care.
Dr Mukhthar Abdulla, assistant medical superintendent, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, delivered the welcome address. In the keynote address, Dr Nagaraj Shet, assistant medical superintendent, highlighted the hospital’s achievements and its continued commitment to providing quality healthcare at affordable costs. He emphasised that under Ayushman Bharat National Portability, beneficiaries enrolled across country can avail treatment at Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, and that Yen Arogya Card delivers highly concessional outpatient and inpatient services to those who are not covered under government / social insurance schemes. He also highlighted the availability of advanced dual robotic surgery units -Da Vinci and SSI Mantra 3.0 offering cashless treatment through various government / social insurance schemes.
The chief guest, Dr M A Wani, senior consultant, Yenepoya Group of Hospitals, described the role of hospitals in nation-building, public welfare, and ensuring the right to life and health. He noted that Yen Utsav serves as a platform to recognise service excellence and provide hospital staff an opportunity to showcase their talents.
Latha Mallikarjun, hon’ble MLA, Harapanahalli Constituency, Government of Karnataka, appreciated the hospital’s patient-centric services and its efforts in cancer and other super speciality care, noting the positive feedback received from the public over the years.
Dr M S Moosabba, principal, Yenepoya Medical College, stated that patient trust, daily patient flow, and service quality are the true indicators of a hospital’s success.
Dr Habib Rahman, medical superintendent, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, and chairperson, Yen Utsav 2025, acknowledged the vital role played by Yen Mitra and Yen Sahayog partners in expanding healthcare outreach across Karnataka and Kerala and reaffirmed the hospital’s focus on affordable and accessible care.
The programme commenced with a prayer led by Muhammed Sabith P, deputy hospital operations officer, and was ably compered by Niliesha Carvallo, assistant hospital operations officer and concluded with a vote of thanks by Nelvin Nelson, deputy manager, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, followed by prize distribution, cultural programmes by staff, and dinner.
