Chennai, Dec 22: The makers of Karakkam, directed by Subhash Lalitha Subrahmanian and starring Sreenath Bhasi and Femina George, have unveiled the lyrical video of the film’s first song, Yakshiye Chiri, offering audiences a spirited glimpse into its quirky horror-comedy universe.
Backed by Krown Stars Entertainment, Karakkam boldly blends humour with the supernatural, marking a first for Malayalam cinema as a full-fledged musical horror comedy. Yakshiye Chiri perfectly reflects this unusual mix, drawing viewers into a world where eerie elements are layered with playful charm.

Set against a nocturnal backdrop, the song unfolds with mischievous beats, ghostly chuckles and an offbeat rhythm that turns spookiness into fun. The result is a track that feels unsettling yet amusing, capturing the film’s promise of laughs wrapped in chills.
A major highlight of the song is composer Sam CS, one of the industry’s most sought-after musical talents. Beyond composing the track, he has also lent his voice to it, giving Yakshiye Chiri a distinctive edge and elevating it beyond a typical film number.
Sharing his thoughts, Sam CS described Karakkam as an exciting creative space that allowed him to explore varied musical moods. He said the song holds special significance for him and expressed excitement about finally presenting it to audiences.
The lyrics, penned by Muhsin Parari, add to the song’s playful mischief, complementing the film’s unconventional narrative and boosting its memorability. The film’s music is being released under the T-Series label, further strengthening its musical footprint.
With Yakshiye Chiri serving as a lively introduction, Karakkam positions itself as a fun-yet-creepy cinematic ride. Alongside Sreenath Bhasi and Femina George, the film also features Shaun Romy, Sidharth Bharathan and other familiar faces, promising an entertaining blend of humour, music and horror.
