Shatrughan Sinha pays tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on birth anniversary

Mumbai, Dec 25: Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha paid heartfelt tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary. Sharing a message on X (formerly Twitter), Sinha wrote, “Sincere respects, floral prayers for Bharat Ratna, our former PM, #AtalBihariVajpayee, whom I will always remember with gratitude. He was a mentor and father figure to all of us. His oratory skills were unparalleled and are truly missed. Great memories to cherish. Profound regards to his family, well-wishers & supporters. Long Live Atalji.”

Earlier, Sinha hosted a private meet-up at his residence to celebrate a “special day,” posting photos from the gathering on X. The images featured his daughter Sonakshi Sinha, her husband Zaheer Iqbal, filmmaker Subhash Ghai and his wife Rehana, filmmaker Ramesh Sippy and his wife Kiran, co-founders of ITA Shashi and Anu Ranjan, filmmaker and writer Rumi Jaffery, and actress Anju Mahendroo among others. He described the evening as a memorable time spent with family and close friends.

In addition to remembering Vajpayee, Sinha also paid homage to legendary actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor on his birth anniversary. He wrote, “Forever in our hearts, thinking of you today, 'the greatest showman' #RajKapoor, a great source of inspiration for me always.” He also recalled working with Kapoor in the 1976 film Khaan Dost, adding, “Reminiscing about working together in 'Khaan Dost'. You are truly missed. Profound regards to the great Kapoor family. Long Live Raj Kapoor! #BirthAnniversary.”

Through these tributes, Sinha highlighted his enduring respect for two iconic figures in Indian politics and cinema who shaped his personal and professional journey.
