Cuncolim: Two-wheeler collision near IDC gate leaves rider injured

Cuncolim, Dec 26: A road accident involving two two-wheelers occurred near the first gate of the IDC area in Cuncolim on December 20, at around 8.15 pm, allegedly due to rash and negligent riding.

According to Cuncolim police, Vijay Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pradesh riding a Suzuki Swish scooter from Quepem towards Cuncolim, attempted to overtake another vehicle and reportedly moved onto the wrong side of the road. This resulted in a collision with a Hero Honda Splendor motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, ridden by Chandan Shinde, a resident of Mokim, Cuncolim.

The impact caused Shinde to fall onto the road along with his motorcycle, sustaining injuries. He was immediately shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

Based on a complaint lodged by HC-6985 Sandesh Gaonkar of Cuncolim Police Station, a case has been registered against the scooter rider for rash and negligent driving endangering human life. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
