Dubai, Dec 27: Popular television fantasy series Naagin is set to return with its seventh season, marking ten years of the franchise, with Naagin 7 scheduled to premiere on December 27 on COLORS TV.
Produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms in association with JioStar, the new season will feature actor Priyanka Chahar Choudhary in the lead role, with Namik Paul playing a key character. The show will air every Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm.
According to the makers, Naagin 7 will introduce a fresh storyline set against the backdrop of the Mahakumbh, blending mythology and fantasy. The narrative revolves around a national crisis triggered by a toxic catastrophe, during which the central character discovers her destiny as the heir of the ancient Anantkul clan.
Producer Ektaa Kapoor said the franchise has evolved into a cultural phenomenon over the last decade and that Season 7 expands the Naagin universe further by introducing new mythical elements and settings. She noted that placing the story against the Mahakumbh adds a culturally significant dimension to the season.
Speaking about her role, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary said portraying the character of Purvi was a special moment in her career. She described Purvi as a layered character who begins as a simple, unassuming woman and gradually discovers her strength and legacy as the Serpent Queen.
The cast also includes Beena Banerjee, Karan Kundrra, Tejasswi Prakash, Alice Kaushik, and Ruhi Chaturvedi.
Naagin 7 will also be available for streaming on JioHotstar.
