Chennai, Dec 30: Kannada actor Rakshit Shetty marked the 9th anniversary of his 2016 romantic comedy Kirik Party, expressing heartfelt gratitude to fans for keeping the film alive in their hearts over the years.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Rakshit wrote, “Years later, the warmth around Kirik Party still hasn’t faded. What truly keeps it alive is the audience’s love for the film. Grateful for that affection, always. Celebrating 9 beautiful years of Kirik Party.”
Directed by Rishab Shetty and produced under Paramvah Studios by Govind Sahai Guptha and Rakshit himself, the film starred Rakshit alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Samyuktha Hegde, Achyuth Kumar, Aravinnd Iyer, Dhananjay Ranjan, Chandan Achar, and Pramod Shetty. It marked the acting debuts of Rashmika Mandanna and Samyuktha Hegde.

The story, crafted by the team The Seven Odds—comprising Rakshit, Rishab Shetty, Abhijith Mahesh, Dhananjay Ranjan, Kiranraj K, and Chandrajith Belliappa—follows Karna (Rakshit), a first-year engineering student, and his experiences with friends and college life, including a final-year student, Saanvi (Rashmika).
Kirik Party was also Rishab Shetty’s second directorial venture following his 2016 release Ricky.
In other news, Rakshit’s 2022 film 777 Charlie recently won four Karnataka State Awards, including Best Film, Best Actor, Best Editing, and Best Lyricist.
