Chennai, Jan 6: The makers of Happy Raj, an upcoming feel-good entertainer directed by Maria Elanchezian and headlined by G V Prakash Kumar and Sri Gouri Priya, have completed filming, the production team announced on Tuesday.
According to sources associated with the project, the unit marked the end of the shoot with a cheerful photo session, reflecting the upbeat spirit that defined the production. The film was shot as per schedule, with the director expressing appreciation to the cast and crew for their commitment, professionalism and teamwork. Those close to the unit described the overall filming experience as smooth and positive, echoing the essence of the story itself.
Produced by Jayavardhan under the banner Beyond Pictures, Happy Raj is described as a wholesome entertainer designed to appeal to audiences across age groups. Insiders say the film has shaped up exactly as envisioned, centring on optimism, light emotions and relatable situations that highlight joy in everyday life.
G V Prakash Kumar plays the title character, Happy Raj, with sources noting that his performance brings a fresh, charming and breezy quality to the role. Sri Gouri Priya appears as the female lead, contributing warmth and emotional nuance to the narrative.
One of the film’s major talking points is the return of popular Tamil actor Abbas, who makes his comeback to cinema after a long break. His association with the project has already sparked curiosity and interest among audiences.
The supporting cast includes George Mariyam, Prarthna, Adhirchi Arun, Madurai Muthu and Sofa Boy Rasool in key roles.
