Mumbai, Jan 8: Actors Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif have announced the name of their newborn baby boy, sharing the first glimpse of the child in a joint post on Instagram. The couple revealed that they have named their son Vihaan Kaushal.

Along with the announcement, Vicky and Katrina shared a touching photograph showing little Vihaan’s tiny hand resting gently on their hands. Posting the picture, the couple wrote, “Our Ray of Light ?? Vihaan Kaushal ????? ????. Prayers are answered. Life is beautiful. Our world is changed in an instant. Gratitude beyond words.”

The name Vihaan, of Sanskrit origin, means “dawn”, “sunrise”, “morning” or the “beginning of a new era”. Fans were quick to draw a connection with Vicky’s blockbuster film Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019), in which his character was named Major Vihaan Singh Shergill. The film’s iconic dialogue “How’s the josh?” had become a nationwide catchphrase.

Actor Hrithik Roshan was among the first celebrities to congratulate the couple, writing, “God bless!! Welcome Vihaan ?? Amazing news! Congratulations and love.”

Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif welcomed their baby boy on November 7, 2025. Earlier, the couple had announced Katrina’s pregnancy on social media, sharing a picture of Vicky cradling her baby bump with the caption, “On our way to start the best chapter of our lives with hearts full of joy and gratitude.”

The couple tied the knot on December 9, 2021, in a private ceremony in Rajasthan. Recently, they celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary, with Vicky sharing a candid photo and captioning it, “Celebrating today. Blissful, grateful and sleep-deprived. Happy 4 to us.”

On the professional front, Vicky Kaushal will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love and War.
