Hyderabad, Jan 11: Megastar Chiranjeevi’s much-awaited film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is set to hit theatres on January 12, coinciding with the Sankranti festival. While fans are eagerly looking forward to catching the first-day-first-show and sharing their reactions, they will not be able to post reviews or ratings on BookMyShow for the film.
According to an announcement on the ticketing platform, reviews and ratings for Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu have been disabled following a court order. Similar restrictions were earlier imposed on Kannada films such as The Devil, Mark and 45.

During the release of those films, fan wars had reportedly led to deliberate negative publicity and biased ratings on online platforms. To prevent such misuse, the film teams had approached the court, resulting in a ban on reviews and ratings on platforms like BookMyShow.
Following the same path, the makers of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu moved the court seeking similar protection. As per the court’s directive, the option to post reviews and ratings has been removed. BookMyShow confirmed that the decision was taken in compliance with judicial orders.
The move has sparked debate on social media, with discussions around whether such restrictions are necessary. Filmmakers argue that some miscreants use online platforms to spread negative propaganda against films, while others allegedly post excessively positive reviews in exchange for money, misleading audiences. To curb both negative campaigns and paid praise, several production houses are opting to disable audience reviews altogether.
The film is directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced under the banners of Shine Screens and Gold Box Entertainment. Apart from Chiranjeevi, the film stars Nayanthara and Daggubati Venkatesh in key roles.
With stiff competition expected from the already released The Raja Saab, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is gearing up for a festive box-office battle as audiences await its theatrical release.
