Mangaluru: British deputy high commissioner visits Expert College, Valachil

Mangaluru, Jan 29: Chandru Iyer, British deputy high commissioner to Karnataka and Kerala and deputy trade commissioner for investments, South Asia, visited Expert Pre-University College’s Valachil campus. He was accompanied by Rory Picardo, head – technology, education, skills and innovation, and other officials.

Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, and Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice chairperson, greeted the deputy high commissioner with bouquets.

In his address, Iyer advised students to give equal importance to people skills along with science and technology and to pursue professions they are passionate about. “You might explore different paths initially, and that’s okay. The key is to identify what truly excites you and pivot towards it,” he said. He expressed confidence that under Prof Narendra L Nayak’s guidance, Expert students would excel as future professionals.

Iyer interacted with senior faculty and students and later took a tour of the campus.

Ankush N Nayak, director – IT, introduced the deputy high commissioner and welcomed the dignitaries.

The event was attended by Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, and other faculty members. Dhruthi V Hegde, vice principal (admin), compered the programme.
