Panaji, Jan 30: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said Goa has set a national benchmark in cyber safety with the launch of a cloud-based 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline, aimed at ensuring faster response, complete accountability and smarter policing. He also announced that the State will soon roll out the e-Zero FIR system.

“With the cloud-based 1930 Cyber Helpline, faster response, 100 per cent accountability and smarter policing are now a reality,” Sawant said.

He explained that the upgraded system ensures uninterrupted service with 100 per cent uptime, full call recording and end-to-end monitoring, enabling authorities to efficiently track complaints and respond swiftly to cybercrime incidents. The helpline also leverages smart data analytics to facilitate quicker detection and response to cyber fraud cases.

The Chief Minister further announced the upcoming launch of e-Zero FIR. “Coming soon is e-Zero FIR — instant e-FIRs for cyber frauds up to Rs 1 lakh, directly through 1930,” he said.

Under the initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs, financial loss complaints registered on the National Cyber Reporting Platform and through the 1930 helpline will automatically lead to the registration of a Zero FIR. As per MHA guidelines, the e-Zero FIR will be immediately routed to the concerned territorial cybercrime police station. Complainants can visit the cybercrime police station within three days to convert the Zero FIR into a regular FIR.

Sawant said the initiative is part of the State’s broader push towards smart policing with a citizen-first approach. “We are introducing smart policing for a citizen-first, cyber-safe Goa,” he added.
