Margao, Feb 1: Members of the Muslim community from Gogol Housing Board on Saturday approached senior police officers after a person allegedly received a threatening message from an accused arrested in the Gogol Masjid murder case.
The community questioned Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Margao, Sidhant Shirodkar on how an accused lodged in the custody of Fatorda police could send a threatening message outside. They demanded a detailed probe into the episode and strict action against those responsible.

Superintendent of Police (South) Tikam Singh Verma told the media that police would investigate the complaint lodged by the affected party. When informed about apprehensions of a similar situation at Jama Masjid, Margao, the SP said the matter would also be examined.
An FIR has been registered in connection with the murder of Ali Khan, who was allegedly stabbed in the stomach with a knife. The main accused named in the case are Akram Khan, a resident of Gogol Housing Board, and Sahil alias Spyki from Mandopa, Navelim.
The complaint lodged by Saklayan Kuknoor, a resident of Gogol Housing Board, further alleged that accused Mehboob Makandar, Taj Makandar, Alladin Sayyed, Rizwan Shaikh, Ubed Makandar, Alam Sayyed, Latif Sayyed and Ayub Sayyed criminally intimidated members of the Sunni Masjid and were involved in a criminal conspiracy over the non-handing over of donation money collected from marriages and other events.
Meanwhile, SP Verma said six persons have been arrested in connection with the murder and police will investigate the conspiracy angle behind the incident. Four accused arrested earlier by Fatorda police have been remanded to seven days of police custody.
He added that police have requested the sealing of the masjid as the murder followed a dispute between two groups. A report has been submitted to the district authorities as a precautionary measure to prevent any breach of peace.
