Jayamala returns as KFCC president with landslide victory

Bengaluru, Feb 1: The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) on Sunday announced the results of its elections, with senior actress Jayamala emerging victorious for the president’s post, marking her second term in office. Jayamala previously served as KFCC president from 2008 to 2010.

Office bearers elected

Elections were also held for other key positions. From the producers’ panel, Sundar Raj was elected as the honorary vice-president, while Kishore from the exhibitors’ panel and K Manju from the distributors’ panel also assumed vice-president roles.

A Ganesh (producers’ panel), Ramesh (distributors’ panel), and Ashok (exhibitors’ panel) were elected as secretaries. Veteran actor Jayasimha Musuri was chosen as the treasurer. In the 2024–25 elections, M. Narasimha had held the president’s post, which now returns to senior actress Jayamala.

Landslide victory

The president’s contest saw a tough battle between Jayamala and producer B. M. Harish. Out of a total of 843 votes cast in this year’s KFCC election, Jayamala secured 512 votes, emerging with a decisive victory, while Harish faced defeat.
