Hyderabad, Feb 4: The makers of director Buchi Babu Sana’s much-anticipated rural action spectacle Peddi, starring Ram Charan in the lead, have officially announced a new release date. The high-voltage entertainer will now arrive in theatres worldwide on April 30 this year.
The film was earlier slated for a March 27 release, but the team confirmed the revised date on Wednesday. Sharing the update with fans on social media, Ram Charan wrote, “#PEDDI will see you on 30th APRIL, 2026.”
The announcement comes close on the heels of the actor’s recent statement about gearing up for his next big challenge. On January 17, Ram Charan had shared gym pictures on Instagram, saying, “Fired up. Working in silence!!! Ready for the next challenge @peddimovie,” further fueling anticipation around the project.

Peddi has already generated massive buzz and is widely regarded as one of the most awaited films of the year. The excitement intensified late last year when the film’s unit wrapped up an important shooting schedule in Delhi. Celebrated cinematographer Rathnavelu shared moments from the sets and confirmed the completion of the schedule, praising Ram Charan’s performance.
“Delhi schedule wrapped in style! Immersive, poetic visuals. Ram Charan bro at his incredible best!” Rathnavelu wrote.
Sources had earlier revealed that several key sequences were filmed in Delhi and that the movie’s talkie portions are nearing completion. With filming progressing smoothly, post-production work is also said to be advancing at a brisk pace.
Adding to the film’s scale, acclaimed stunt choreographer Sham Kaushal was recently roped in to design a major action sequence. This high-intensity fight, featuring Ram Charan alongside a group of fighters, was shot on an elaborate set constructed by production designer Avinash Kolla at the Aluminium Factory in Hyderabad. Insiders say the sequence is expected to be one of the film’s standout moments.
The project has already drawn attention through its striking first-look posters and teaser glimpse. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, and presented by Mythri Movie Makers along with Sukumar Writings, Peddi is being mounted on a lavish scale with a substantial budget. Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead.
Sources close to the production have noted that director Buchi Babu Sana is leaving no stone unturned, especially when it comes to action. Each fight sequence, they say, has been designed with distinct ideas and executed with visual flair.
Along with Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, the film boasts a strong supporting cast that includes Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyendu Sharma in prominent roles.
Backing the film is an impressive technical team — Academy Award winner AR Rahman handling the music, R. Rathnavelu behind the camera, and National Award–winning editor Navin Nooli overseeing the edit — further raising expectations for what promises to be a major cinematic event.
