Mumbai, Feb 7: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming film O’ Romeo with Triptii Dimri, has dropped a major update on the much-awaited sequel Farzi 2, bringing cheer to fans.

Shahid and Triptii were present at the song launch of Paan Ki Dukaan, where they interacted with the media. During the interaction, Shahid was asked about the second season of Farzi, and the actor confirmed that the Raj and DK directorial is set to go on floors soon. The first season of the Amazon Prime Video series was released in 2023 and has since enjoyed a massive fan following.

Confirming the development, Shahid said, “Ye baal maine Farzi 2 ke liye hi katwaye hain, shooting shuru hone wali hai,” indicating that preparations for the shoot are already underway. The sequel is now expected to be completed this year, with a likely release towards the end of 2026 or early 2027.

According to reports, Shahid is set to receive a remuneration of around Rs 45 crore for the second season, marking the highest pay of his career so far. While the actor usually charges between Rs 25 crore and Rs 30 crore per film, he is said to have negotiated a different payment structure for the web series.

Meanwhile, directors Raj and DK, who were reportedly working on another project Rakt Brahmand, may have put it on hold due to funding issues, making Farzi 2 their immediate priority.

Farzi, a black comedy crime thriller, was directed by Raj and DK and featured an ensemble cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, Raashii Khanna and Bhuvan Arora. The series premiered on Amazon Prime Video in February 2023.
