Mumbai, Feb 8: Actor Vikrant Massey has put an end to circulating rumours that he was replaced by Ba**ds of Bollywood* actor Raghav Juyal in the second instalment of Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological epic Ramayana.
Taking to social media, the National Award–winning actor clarified that he was never associated with the project in the first place. In an Instagram Story, Vikrant addressed the speculation head-on, stating, “OK. To put rumours to rest, I never was a part of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan.”
Calling out sections of the media, he added that reports about his so-called “replacement” were unfounded and should have been verified before publication. “The many media portals reporting about my supposed replacement should’ve done the requisite background check,” he wrote.

Despite expressing disappointment over what he termed irresponsible reporting, Vikrant extended his best wishes to the film’s team.
“Disappointing. Nonetheless, wishing everyone a part of the movie all the very best. Love,” he concluded.
Interestingly, this was not the first time the actor addressed the issue. Vikrant had earlier shared a similar clarification, which he later deleted. In that post, he had strongly criticised what he described as careless coverage by “respectable” media houses, reiterating that he was never involved with the film and adding that he would still watch it in theatres.
Ramayana remains one of the most eagerly awaited Indian films, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The expansive cast also includes Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, Indira Krishnan, Sheeba Chaddha, Adinath Kothare, and Kunal Kapoor in pivotal roles.
The first part of Ramayana is expected to release worldwide around Diwali 2026, with the second instalment slated for a Diwali 2027 release.
Meanwhile, Vikrant Massey is set to appear in a diverse slate of upcoming projects, including O’Romeo, Yaar Jigri, Talaakhon Mein Ek, and White.
