Mangaluru, Feb 10: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), Mangaluru organised a one-day National Hindi Seminar on the theme “Evolving Journey of Official Language with Harmony and Inclusion” at the MRPL Recreation Centre on February 9.
The seminar was inaugurated by Kumar Pal Sharma, joint director (implementation), Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Dr Dheeraj Kumar Mishra, senior analyst, NERBFID, graced the occasion as the guest of honour.

The programme was presided over by Krishna Hegde Miyar, general manager (HR), MRPL. In his presidential remarks, Krishna Hegde Miyar emphasised that India is a nation of immense diversity, reflected in its languages, cultures, traditions, attire and ideas. He stated that in such a multilingual and multicultural society, Hindi as the official language serves not only as a link language but also as a strong medium for harmony, unity and national consciousness. He further highlighted that the development of the official language should go beyond its usage and embrace the spirit of inclusion. Only when Hindi progresses by involving all sections, regions, and linguistic communities can it truly represent the soul of the nation.
Devesh Dubey, GM–HR (Training & OL), Krishna Kumar Yadav, secretary, TOLIC, Mangaluru and chief manager, Union Bank of India and Sudhir Dubey, chief manager (official language), were also present on the occasion.
The seminar comprised five informative and insightful sessions, which were highly beneficial to the participants. Around 200 participants from public sector undertakings, central government offices, and institutions affiliated with Mangalore University, located at Puttur, Udupi, Kundapura, Sullia, Karkala, Moodbidri, Ujire and Mangaluru took part in the programme.
