Inaugural ceremony of Inter State Youth Exchange 2025-26 held in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Feb 12: The inaugural ceremony of the Inter State Youth Exchange 2025-26 was held in Mangaluru, Karnataka, with Telangana as the guest state. The event was organized by Mera Yuva Bharath Dakshina Kannada district Karnataka, ministry of youth affairs and sports, in collaboration with Mandd Shobhann, Shakthingar Mangaluru, and National Service Scheme Mangalore University.The programme will be held from February 12 to 16, at Shakthinagar, Mangaluru and will host a delegation of 37 members, including 35 bright young leaders and 2 escorts representing five districts of Telangana.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome by Aisiri Aithal, NSS volunteer from Canara College, Mangaluru. The Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly, U T Khader, inaugurated the event and addressed the delegates, emphasizing that "Youths are the assets of the nation."

MLA Vedavyasa Kamath interacted with the delegates, highlighting Mangaluru's rich education and cultural heritage. Other dignitaries present included Sargent Mahesh Kumar Holla, executive officer, taluk panchayat Mangaluru; Ullas K T K, district youth officer, MY Bharath Dakshina Kannada Karnataka; CA Shantharam Shetty, chairman, Indian Red Cross Society Dakshina Kannada; Louis Pinto, president, Mandd Shobhann, Kalangana Shakthingar Mangaluru; Jagadeesh K, Mera Yuva Bharath Dakshina Kannada; Seema Prabhu Dakshina Kannada District nodal officer Mangalore University and Srikanth, district trainer, MY Bharath Dakshina Kannada Karnataka.

The event was emceed by Hitha Umesh, Mera Yuva Bharath volunteer, Government College Haleangadi, who also delivered a vote of thanks. The ceremony was marked by a sense of enthusiasm and camaraderie, setting the tone for a successful youth exchange programme.
