Udupi: ‘Saksham Shakti’ programme on financial confidence for working women held at MSCE, Manipal

Udupi, Feb 13: Centre for Economics and Social Networking (CESN), Manipal School of Commerce and Economics (MSCE), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Manipal in collaboration with BOBCARD Limited organised the ‘Saksham Shakti’ programme on financial confidence for working women at seminar Hall MSCE-01, Manipal, on February 9.

The event was inaugurated by Ravindra Rai, managing director and CEO, BOBCARD Limited, along with other dignitaries by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Ravindra Rai, in his inaugural address, explained about the importance of women's financial literacy. He detailed the CSR goals of BOBCARD Limited in women empowerment and released the manual of Saksham Shakti.

Dr Madhu Veeraraghavan, pro vice-chancellor (Management, Law, Humanities and Social Sciences) MAHE, Manipal, addressed the gathering virtually and advised of extending this initiative to students.

The event was presided over by Dr Sandeep S Shenoy, in-charge director Manipal School of Commerce and Economics (MSCE), MAHE Manipal.

About 63 female staff members participated in the session, further plans to hold this programme including various Karnataka Universities with over 400 women participation.

The inaugural event was then followed by a session.

Hilda Catherine Cornalio, co-principal investigator MAHE Manipal; Dr Ren Trevor Dias, co-principal investigator MSCE; Dr Satish Kumar, principal investigator MSCE, students and others were present on the occasion.
