Chennai, Feb 13: The team behind director Haroon’s upcoming investigative thriller Buried has completed filming, with post-production now progressing rapidly. The film features Vetri, widely recognised for his performance in 8 Thotakkal, in the lead role.
According to sources close to the production, Buried is centred on a gripping investigation narrative, with Vetri portraying an encounter specialist police officer. The story explores the professional challenges associated with the role, its emotional toll on the officer’s family, and his resilience in navigating the moral and personal conflicts that arise.
The project is jointly produced by Haroon and Mahender Kumar under the banners of Dream House and Jain Creations. Haroon, known for directing Web, has also penned the script.

The film stars Akshitha from Hyderabad and Chandini Tamilarasan as the female leads. The supporting cast includes Balaji Sakthivel, Singam Puli, Saravana Subbaiah, Jenson Diwakar and Kodangi Vadivelu.
On the technical front, music is composed by John Robbins, while cinematography is handled by KV Kiran. Velu, who previously assisted in the art department of Kantara, is in charge of art direction. Editing is overseen by Don Bosco, and choreography is by Richie Richardson. Notably, director Arunraja Kamaraj has lent his voice to a song in the film. Captain MP Anand and KSK Selvakumar serve as executive producers.
The film has been shot across Chennai, Coimbatore, Yercaud and Kodaikanal. With post-production moving swiftly, the makers are expected to announce a release date soon.
