Mangaluru, Feb 25: Director S V Rajendra Singh Babu’s Kannada-Tulu bilingual Veera Kambala (Birdd Kambala in Tulu), is set to be released across Karnataka on February 27.

Speaking about the movie last week, director S V Rajendra Singh Babu expressed confidence that the film, made at a cost of Rs 14 crore, will be successful. He said the movie includes a storyline and visuals that will be discussed across the country. If the film succeeds in Kannada and Tulu, it will be dubbed into Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Later, it will also be taken to English to showcase the vibrant sporting tradition involving animals that is practiced here, he added.

He further informed that the Kannada version of the film will be released across Karnataka on February 27. The Tulu version will reach theatres simultaneously across Tulunadu, and there are also plans to release it in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Dubai.

“Actor Prakash Raj has acted in the film. Srinivasa Gowda, who runs with the buffaloes, has been made the hero. If a star actor had been cast instead, it would have been a major mismatch. Some conventions of the film industry have been broken in this movie, which is also expected to contribute to its success,” he said.

Music director Kadri Manikanth said that, like the film, authenticity has been maintained in the songs as well. Producer Arun Rai Thodar, executive director Rajesh Kudla, singer and actor Mime Ramdas, State Kambala Association president Devisprasad Shetty Belapu, treasurer Lokesh Shetty Muchchuru Kalkude, Gunapala Kadamba, Rashmith Shetty Okkadigoli, actor Rajesh Shetty and lyricist K K Pejavara were present.
