Mumbai, Feb 27: Rani Mukerji-starrer Mardaani 3 continues its steady run at the box office, crossing significant milestones in its fourth week.
According to figures shared by Yash Raj Films (YRF), the crime thriller has earned Rs 50 crore net (Rs 61 crore gross) in India so far. Overseas, the film has collected $1.53 million, taking its total worldwide gross to Rs 75 crore. Trade sources, however, estimate the domestic earnings at around Rs 43 crore net (Rs 53 crore gross).

The studio has stated that Mardaani 3 is now the highest-grossing installment in the franchise.
Reacting to the box office performance, Rani expressed gratitude and termed the success as a significant moment for women-led cinema. “I’m deeply grateful that Mardaani 3 has connected with audiences in such a big way. At a time when the box office conversation is slightly centered around ‘alpha male’ characters, this success proves something very powerful — that female-led films also have an audience. I hope the industry has noticed this so that we have more such films made,” she said in a statement.
She further added that the film’s earnings represent more than just numbers. “This milestone is much bigger than numbers. It sends a message to the industry that content with purpose, anchored by a strong female protagonist, can stand shoulder to shoulder with hero-driven films. It tells filmmakers that investing in female-led stories is not a risk — it’s an opportunity.”
The Mardaani franchise features Rani as the tough and determined cop Shivani Shivaji Roy. Over the years, the character has drawn comparisons from fans to the popular cop universe led by Ajay Devgn in the Singham franchise. Addressing such comparisons indirectly, Rani said, “Shivani Shivaji Roy was not written as a ‘female version’ of anything. She is simply a hero — defined by integrity, courage and empathy. She is equal to her male counterparts. The fact that audiences have embraced her story so strongly shows that people are ready for narratives where a woman leads not just emotionally, but commercially.”
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, the film also stars Janki Bodiwala, Mallika Prasad, Jisshu Sengupta, Prajesh Kashyap, and Indraneel Bhattacharya.
With its sustained performance at the box office, Mardaani 3 has reaffirmed the franchise’s popularity and strengthened the case for more women-led mainstream films in Bollywood.
