Telangana, Feb 28: In the quiet tribal hamlet of Palsi (B) Thanda in Thalamadugu mandal of Adilabad district, a dream that once seemed distant has turned into an inspiring reality. Sai Chaitanya Jadhav, son of a head constable, has secured an impressive All India Rank 68 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination in his sixth attempt, proving that perseverance can outshine repeated setbacks.
An alumnus of Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Kagaznagar, Sai Chaitanya completed his mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Tiruchirapalli, before setting his sights on the prestigious civil services. Inspired during his school days by interactions with visiting IAS and IPS officers, he nurtured a firm ambition to join the administrative services.

The journey, however, was far from smooth. He could not clear the examination in his first four attempts. In his fifth attempt, he narrowly missed his IAS dream but was selected as an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer. Refusing to settle, he appeared once again — and this time, struck gold by securing the 68th rank in his sixth consecutive attempt.
“It has always been my ambition to become an IAS officer. I was inspired by IAS and IPS officers who visited our school. Even after five unsuccessful attempts, I was not discouraged,” Sai Chaitanya said, reflecting on his journey.
An avid reader of Telugu and English newspapers, he credits his success to meticulous planning, perseverance, and the unwavering support of his parents. He devoted time to reading essays and articles published in various vernacular newspapers to strengthen his grasp over current affairs, general knowledge, and science subjects.
Sai Chaitanya has expressed his resolve to work for the upliftment of tribal communities in rural areas once he assumes charge as collector. His father, Govind, is currently serving in Dichpally in Nizamabad district, while his mother, Kavita, is a government school teacher.
