Mumbai: Akshay Kumar declares his wife is his biggest critic

Media Release

Mumbai, Feb 28: Even after delivering blockbuster hits, Akshay Kumar admits he still waits for one reaction from his wife. On the upcoming episode of Wheel of Fortune, Akshay shares how he eagerly waits for a word of appreciation from his wife each time his film releases. The candid confession unfolds during a lively conversation with contestants Akash Singh, Priyanshi Singh, and Prateek Chaturvedi.

After the Triple Toss-Up round, Akshay strikes up a conversation with contestant Akash Singh about corporate workload and daily stress. When Akshay questions him, “Tu apni bhadaas nikalta kahan hai?” Akash promptly shares that he performs stand-up and asks if he could share a quick joke around his conversation with his wife. Akshay reconfirms with him “Biwi? apni? haan suna.” Akash kickstarts, “My wife tells me, ‘Apni nakaamiyon ko gale lagana chahiye.” He then jokingly hugs his wife, hinting that she is his ‘nakaami’.

The spotlight then shifts to his mother when Akshay turns to Akash’s mother and asks, “Maaji, aap chahti ho aapke ladke pe log hasse?” to which she promptly replies, “Haan, bilkul.” When asked if he makes her laugh at home, she candidly says, “Koshish karta hai lekin main hasti nahi.”

Akshay turns to Akash and jokes, “Pehle apni maa ko toh hasa le,” to which Akash responds, “Sabse bada sales target unko hasana hi hai.” Relating it to his own life, Akshay concludes, “Meri bhi jab film release hoti hai, meri biwi kabhi bolti hi nahi hai haan acchi film hai, badi mushkil se kahegi ‘this was okay’. Ye hota hai humare ghar walon se” concluding the conversation on a very relatable note.
