Mangaluru, Mar 3: In view of the ongoing war in parts of the Middle East and Gulf countries and the resulting disruption in flight services, the Dakshina Kannada (DK) district administration has issued a public advisory and activated round-the-clock emergency helplines in the interest of residents.
According to a release from the District Disaster Management Authority, international flight services have been affected due to the prevailing instability in the Middle East. There is information that several people from Karnataka are stranded in these countries. Airspace routes in 11 countries have reportedly been closed. Following the sudden escalation, several passengers from Karnataka are believed to be stranded in various Middle Eastern nations, including the United Arab Emirates (Dubai).

If any residents of Dakshina Kannada district are stranded in these countries, they are requested to contact the designated helplines in the respective countries or inform the Dakshina Kannada District Disaster Management Centre.

Acting on the directions of the chief minister and the revenue minister, the State Emergency Operation Centre and the District Emergency Operation Centre have been placed on round-the-clock (24x7) alert, officials said.
The district administration is closely monitoring advisories and updates issued by the ministry of external affairs as well as Indian embassies in the affected countries.
