Shimla, Mar 5 (IANS): Tremors were felt in some parts of Himachal Pradesh Monday after an earthquake of 4.9 intensity hit the capital and its adjoining areas in the national capital region (NCR), the weather office here said.
However, there was no report of any loss of life or damage to property in the hill state.
"Tremors of the 4.9 magnitude earthquake were felt for some seconds in parts of the state at 1.11 p.m.," an official of the meteorological office told IANS.
He said the epicentre was near Bahadurgarh town near the Haryana-Delhi border region, just 35 km from New Delhi. This was the second earthquake in the northern region in less than a month.
