Beltangady: Awareness session on voter mapping, SIR held at St Thomas Church Hall, Nirkan

Beltangady, Mar 23: The Catholic Sabha, ICYM, Sthree Sanghatan and Commission of Laity & Commission of Justice and Peace of Nirkan organized the informative session on voters mapping & SIR on Sunday, March 15 at St Thomas Church Hall, Nirkan.

Fr Vinod Mascarenhas, convenor, Commission of Peace & Justice; and advocate Clifton Rosario were present as resource persons.

They highlighted the importance of voter mapping, explained the current situation in other states, and guided attendees on the steps needed in the coming days to improve voter participation. They also answered queries from the attendees.

On this occasion Fr Anil Roshan Lobo, parish priest Nirkan; Shanthi Veigas, secretary of PPC Nirkan; Stany Lobo, coordinator of Commissions Nirkan; Melwyn D’Souza, president of Catholic Sabha Nirkan; Arwin Fernandes, president of ICYM Nirkan; Lydia D’Souza, president of Stree Sangatan Nirkan; Lancy Rodrigues, convenor on Laity Commission Nirkan; Glean Shail D’Souza, member of Justice and Peace Commission Nirkan and parishioners were present.

Melwyn D’Souza, president of Catholic Sabha Nirkan welcomed all the gathering. Shanthi Veigas, secretary of PPC Nirkan conveyed vote of thanks; Arwin Fernandes, president of ICYM Nirkan compered the programme.

Local residents also actively took part in the session.
