Mumbai, Mar 27: After years of uncertainty, the much-awaited film Captain India starring Kartik Aaryan is finally set to go on floors this summer, sources said.
The aviation drama, which was announced in 2021 with Hansal Mehta as director, had seen prolonged delays, leading to speculation that the project had been shelved. However, insiders now confirm that the makers are targeting a filming window between May and July.

With Mehta no longer attached, the project is currently being helmed by Shimit Amin, best known for directing Chak De! India. While there were recent rumours suggesting Amin’s exit, sources close to the production have dismissed them.
“The delays caused these rumours. But the film is on track and Shimit is helming it,” a source said.
Aaryan is presently occupied with another project under T-Series and is expected to begin work on Captain India soon after wrapping up his current commitments.
