Mangaluru, Mar 27: Srinivas University is set to host its 8th Annual Convocation on Saturday, March 28, at its Mukka, Surathkal campus.
The morning session will feature Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat, managing director & CEO of Karnataka Bank, as the chief guest, while the afternoon session at 3 pm will be graced by Sri Ganti Venkat Kiran, chairman & director (production and projects – additional charge) and director (finance), KIOCL Limited.
During the convocation, 2,769 graduates — 626 postgraduate and 2,023 undergraduate students — will receive their degrees. The university will also recognise 236 rank holders, while 48 outstanding graduates will be awarded the prestigious chancellor’s gold medal.

Additionally, 1 Doctor of Science (DSc), 1 Doctor of Literature (DLitt), and 118 PhD degrees will be conferred.
The honorary Doctor of Literature (DLitt) Honoris Causa will be awarded to T Satish U Pai, executive chairman of Manipal Media Network Limited, in recognition of his distinguished contributions to society.
Graduation Day
The graduation day of the Srinivas Group of Colleges will be held on March 29, at 10 am, with Aravinda Holla, solution architect at Tata Consultancy Services, as chief guest. A total of 1,058 graduates will receive their certificates during the ceremony.
Talent’s Day
The students’ talent day of Srinivas University and the Srinivas Group of Institutions is scheduled for March 30 at 9:30 am at the Mukka campus. Students will be given the opportunity to showcase their talents.
Founders’ Day & College Day
The Founders’ Day and College Day celebrations will take place on March 31 at 10 am. S Shanthi, deputy chairperson of New Mangalore gPort Authority, will be the chief uest and deliver the Founders’ Day address.
All programmes will be presided over by A Srinivas Rao, chancellor of Srinivas University and president of the A Shama Rao Foundation. On this occasion, the University will pay tribute to its former chancellor, C A A Raghavendra Rao, whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for the institution’s growth and excellence.
Distinguished dignitaries expected include members of the board of governors — A Vijayalakshmi R Rao, A Mitra S Rao, and Padmini Kumar — along with Satyanarayan Reddy (vice chancellor), Anil Kumar (registrar), Shrinivas Mayya D (registrar evaluation), Dr Ajay Kumar (registrar development), and Adithya Kumar Maiya (registrar - academic).
As part of the Founders’ Day celebrations, the University and the Srinivas Group of Institutions will felicitate achievers across diverse fields. The A. Shama Rao Foundation will also honour outstanding educators.
The A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Teacher Award – 2026 has been conferred upon Vedavathi B (vice principal, Government High School, Kadaba) and Rajesh Kadri (principal & administrator, Sri Ramakrishnashrama, Konchady, Mangaluru) for their exemplary service in education in Dakshina Kannada district.
Around 200 faculty members of Srinivas University and the Srinivas Group of Colleges will also be specially felicitated in recognition of achievements such as patent publications, research funding, presentation of research papers at international conferences, and award of Ph.D. degrees. University rank holders will additionally be honoured with gold medals during the ceremony.
