Udupi, Sep 22: A black leopard was reportedly spotted behind the cattle shed of Ganesh Shetty at Doddmane in Belanje, under the Kucchoor gram panchayat limits of Hebri taluk, triggering concern among residents of the area.
The sighting has caused fear among people in and around Belanje, with locals expressing concern over their safety, particularly after the wild animal was spotted close to residential premises.
Local leader Amrith Kumar Shetty has urged forest department officials to respond immediately and take necessary steps to capture the leopard to ensure the safety of the residents.
Residents have also appealed to the forest department to intensify surveillance in the area and take precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents.
