Moodbidri, Mar 31: In a horrific road accident that occurred near a petrol bunk here on the evening of Tuesday, March 31, a mother and her son lost their lives.
The deceased have been identified as Prema and her son Seena, residents of Neeralke in Gantalkatte, Moodbidri taluk.
According to sources, the duo was travelling on their motorcycle from Moodbidri towards Gantalkatte when their two-wheeler rammed into the rear end of a truck parked by the roadside. The impact of the collision was so severe that Prema died on the spot. Seena, who sustained critical injuries, breathed his last while being rushed to the hospital.
Local police have registered a case in this regard and further investigations are underway.
