Hyderabad, Apr 1: The makers of director Ajay Bhupathi’s much-anticipated film Srinivasa Mangapuram have revealed a key character from the film, introducing veteran actor Naresh as “Swatantra Babu.”
The announcement was made by Vyjayanthi Movies on social media, where the production house described the role as one that “lives and celebrates life in its own way,” hinting at a vibrant and memorable character in the film.
The first-look poster showcases Naresh in a lively avatar, holding an alcohol bottle in one hand and a tape recorder in the other, appearing carefree and full of energy, as if caught mid-dance.

The film features Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni—nephew of superstar Mahesh Babu—in the lead role, marking his debut on the big screen. Starring opposite him is Rasha Thadani, daughter of Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, who is also making her Telugu cinema debut.
Adding further star power, veteran actor Mohan Babu will be seen playing the role of Venkatappaya Naidu.
The film has already generated significant buzz, not only for its cast but also because of Ajay Bhupathi’s involvement. The director is known for his critically acclaimed films RX 100 and Mangalavaram, both praised for their intense and raw storytelling style.
Production is progressing steadily, with around 60% of the shoot completed following the conclusion of a major third schedule in early March. Key scenes featuring the principal cast were filmed during this phase.
Backed by noted producer Ashwini Dutt and produced by P. Kiran, the film is being mounted on a grand scale with high production values.
The project also features a strong technical team, including two-time National Award-winning composer G. V. Prakash Kumar handling the music, cinematography by Jayakrishna Gummadi, editing by Madhav Kumar Gullapalli, production design by Sahi Suresh, and action choreography by Real Sathish.
