Tamil TV actress Subashini found dead at Chennai residence

Chennai, Apr 7: Tamil television actress Subashini was found dead at her residence in Chennai, police said on Monday, suspecting it to be a case of suicide.

Police teams rushed to the spot upon receiving information and have initiated an inquiry to ascertain the circumstances surrounding her death. Officials said further details would emerge following preliminary investigation and standard procedures.

According to media reports, Subashini, originally from Sri Lanka, had recently been staying in Chennai for shooting commitments. She was otherwise residing in Bengaluru with her husband.

She was well known among television audiences for her role in the serial Kayal and had also acted in films and short-format projects.

In 2012, she appeared in the film Ini Avan, which revolved around Sri Lankan themes. Over the years, she also featured in short films and social awareness content.

Active on social media, the actress frequently shared updates about her personal and professional life on Instagram.

Police said investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of death.
