Brahmavar, Apr 12: A surge in leopard activity has sparked growing alarm across Brahmavar taluk, with residents of Naduru village reporting repeated sightings of the predator over the past several days.

The situation has become particularly distressing for a local resident, Babu Shetty, whose house the leopard is said to be visiting frequently.

According to locals, the animal has carried away chickens reared by him and has also attacked his cattle, leaving them with visible injuries.

“We had informed the forest officials well in advance about the leopard’s presence, but no action has been taken so far,” residents complained, expressing frustration over the perceived inaction.

They further noted that the leopard has been sighted in the area on multiple occasions, intensifying fears among villagers.

With anxiety mounting, residents have urged the Forest Department to take immediate and effective measures to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of both people and livestock.
