Mangaluru, Apr 16: The 36th graduation ceremony of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital (FMHMC&H) was held on Thursday, April 16 at the Father Muller Convention Centre, Kankanady.
The programme commenced with a solemn procession of graduates accompanied by a ceremonial band and a guard of honour. The dignitaries, including president of the programme Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese; chief guest Dr K S Gangadhara Somayaji, vice chancellor of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University); and FMCI director Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, were accorded a traditional welcome with 'Poornakumbha'.
































Welcoming the gathering, Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo emphasised the values of wisdom and perseverance, reflecting on the 146-year legacy of the institution. He encouraged the new healers to serve with compassion.
Principal Dr E S J Prabhu Kiran presented the annual report for 2025-26, highlighting academic achievements and clinical research. A significant milestone was marked with the handover of NABH and NABL accreditation certificates to the director. Additionally, a new range of cosmetic products under 'Muller’s Cosmeceuticals' was unveiled by administrator Fr Nelson Dheeraj Pais.
A total of 111 graduates, including 92 BHMS undergraduates and 19 MD (Hom) postgraduates, were conferred with their degrees by the chief guest. Dr E S J Prabhu Kiran led the graduates in taking the Homoeopathic Physician’s Oath.
In his graduation address, Dr K S Gangadhara Somayaji described the day as a transition into licensed practice. He emphasized the holistic, patient-centred approach of homoeopathy and urged graduates to respect their alma mater, teachers, and parents while pursuing further research.

The institution also celebrated securing 4 undergraduate and 12 postgraduate ranks under the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). Special honours were given to Dr K Kadambari, Dr Shithil Joseph, and Dr Alvia Pearl Rodrigues for representing the university in sports at the zonal and national levels.
In his presidential address, Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha congratulated the award winners and reflected on the legacy of Samuel Hahnemann. He highlighted the need for innovation in a rapidly evolving world while maintaining the unique strength of individualised care.
Fr Donald Nilesh Crasta proposed the vote of thanks. The ceremony, compered by Dr Shreyank S Kotian and Dr Mable P Andrade, concluded with the institutional anthem. Earlier in the day, a thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration was offered by Fr Roshan Crasta at Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel, Deralakatte.
