New Delhi, Apr 16: Narendra Modi on Thursday sought to allay concerns raised by opposition parties and southern states over the proposed women’s reservation bill and the impact of the upcoming delimitation exercise on representation.
Addressing Parliament during a special session convened to debate and vote on key legislations, the Prime Minister asserted that the Centre views the country as a unified entity. “We look at India as one, not in parts. The bill will not do injustice to anyone,” he said.

Responding to apprehensions that delimitation could reduce the political weight of certain states, Modi assured that the process would be carried out in a fair and unbiased manner. “I give a guarantee that no injustice will be done to any state — from East to West, North to South,” he emphasised.
The delimitation exercise has remained a contentious issue, with opposition parties expressing fears that population-based seat redistribution could disproportionately affect states that have successfully controlled population growth. The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid ongoing debate aimed at building consensus on the proposed reforms.
