Retaining wall collapse in Attavar damages cars; fallen tree disrupts traffic at Car Street

Mangaluru, Apr 22: Heavy rain lashed the city on Wednesday, April 22, leading to a retaining wall collapse in Attavar and a major tree fall near Car Street, resulting in significant property damage.

In Attavar, a retaining wall situated near the Ayyappa Bhajana Mandira collapsed onto several cars parked alongside it. The impact of the debris left the vehicles severely damaged.

In a separate incident, a massive branch of a tree came crashing down near Basavana Gudi on Car Street. The fallen branch damaged a nearby house and a scooter before landing across the road, leading to a total suspension of traffic in the area for several hours.

Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in either incident. Local authorities have reached the spots to clear the debris and restore normalcy.
