Mumbai, May 3: Actor Paramvir Singh Cheema has spoken about the challenges of building and sustaining a career in Mumbai’s entertainment industry, saying that proving talent is only the beginning of a much longer struggle.

In a recent interview, Cheema said that for most aspiring actors who arrive in Mumbai, the initial challenge is not just survival but establishing credibility through their work.

“To prove your talent, obviously. The rest is all a part of it,” he said when asked whether survival or recognition is the bigger hurdle.

He added that even after proving oneself, sustaining success can be equally difficult, as opportunities may not come immediately.

According to him, many performers who have already demonstrated their abilities still find themselves waiting for consistent work.

“So to prove your talent and keep your place intact is the biggest struggle,” he said.

On the professional front, Cheema is currently seen in the series Sapne vs Everyone Season 2, which premiered on May 1 on Amazon Prime Video. The show is produced by The Viral Fever and directed by Ambrish Verma.

The series follows two parallel journeys: Cheema’s character Prashant, who moves to Mumbai to pursue a career in the film industry, and Jimmy, who navigates challenges in real estate and politics.

The narrative highlights the contrast between ambition and reality, focusing on how individuals struggle not only to achieve their dreams but also to survive the pressures that come with them in competitive environments like Mumbai.
