Two arrested for illegal transportation of cattle in Udupi

Udupi, May 7: Police arrested two persons for illegally transporting cattle in a goods vehicle near Pakkalu Hebbaru bridge in Hiriyadka.

The arrested accused have been identified as Suhas (21) and Lava Shetty (64).

According to police, the accused were transporting four cattle illegally in a tempo goods vehicle from Perdoor towards Hiriyadka for slaughter at an abattoir. Near the Pakkalu Hebbaru bridge, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer into a roadside drain.

During the incident, police apprehended the accused and seized the cattle. A case has been registered at Hiriyadka police station.
