Mumbai, May 9: Actor-producer Sohail Khan has announced his new film My Punjabi Nikaah, bringing together Sanjay Dutt and Aayush Sharma on screen for the first time.

The upcoming project has already generated buzz for its fresh pairing and is expected to be a light-hearted commercial entertainer packed with humour, drama and family chaos.

Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Sohail Khan said the film is currently in the final stages of scripting and development. The makers are planning to begin shooting soon and are targeting a release later this year.

Sohail Khan revealed that he is still searching for an “authentic” director for the film and has not yet decided whether he will direct the project himself.

Apart from Sanjay Dutt and Aayush Sharma, the film will also introduce a new female actor in the lead role, he added.

On the work front, 2026 has been a busy year for Sanjay Dutt. The actor impressed audiences with his role as SP Choudhary Aslam in Dhurandhar: The Revenge. He was later seen in the Kannada film KD: The Devil and most recently appeared in Riteish Deshmukh’s film Raja Shivaji, where he portrayed Afzal Khan.

Sanjay Dutt will next be seen in the action thriller Aakhri Sawal, scheduled for release on May 15, 2026, alongside Sameera Reddy.

Meanwhile, Aayush Sharma also has Ragini 3 in the pipeline, featuring Tamannaah Bhatia. Further details about the project are expected to be announced soon.
