Mumbai, May 10: Bollywood actor and performer Nora Fatehi is set to represent India on one of the world’s biggest sporting stages as she prepares to perform and sing at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Toronto, Canada.
The grand ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 12 at BMO Field and will feature a star-studded international lineup of musicians and performers. Nora Fatehi will share the stage with globally recognised artists including Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Sanjoy, Vegedream, and William Prince.

The celebrations connected to the tournament’s USA events will also feature performances from international music stars such as Anitta, Future, Katy Perry, Lisa, Rema, and Tyla, highlighting FIFA’s effort to combine football with global music and entertainment culture.
According to FIFA, the Toronto opening ceremony will showcase Canada’s cultural diversity and national identity through music, storytelling, and visual performances reflecting the country from “coast to coast to coast.”
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the ceremony as a symbolic and emotional celebration marking Canada’s role as one of the host nations for the historic tournament.
“The opening ceremony in Toronto will capture the spirit of Canada and the excitement surrounding the FIFA World Cup 2026,” Infantino said.
He added that the event would blend Canadian culture with the broader narrative of the tournament being jointly hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be the largest edition in the tournament’s history, featuring 104 matches across 16 host cities. The competition is set to begin on June 11 in Mexico City, while the final will be played on July 19 at the New York New Jersey Stadium.
Nora Fatehi began her journey in the entertainment industry with the Hindi film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans in 2014 and later rose to prominence through her energetic dance performances in Telugu cinema. She became widely popular for special appearances in films such as Temper, Baahubali: The Beginning, and Kick 2.
She has also appeared in Malayalam films including Double Barrel and Kayamkulam Kochunni.
Apart from films, Nora gained television popularity after participating in Bigg Boss in 2015 and later showcased her dance talent in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Over the years, she has appeared in Hindi films like Street Dancer 3D and Bhuj: The Pride of India while also serving as a judge on dance reality shows including Dance Deewane Juniors and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10.
