Mangaluru, May 10: Milagres College, in association with ICYM Mangalore Diocese and Mangalore Runners Club, successfully organised 'Apex Run 2026' on Sunday, May 10, at the Milagres College campus, Mangaluru. The mega marathon event was conducted with the objective of promoting fitness, health awareness, youth engagement, and community participation.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response with a total participation of 1,450 runners from various educational institutions, organisations, fitness communities, and the general public, making it one of the most vibrant and energetic fitness events in the region.




















The programme was presided over by Rev Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions. The chief guest for the event was Msgr Lawrence Maxim Noronha, vicar general of the Mangalore Diocese. The event was also graced by Rev Dr Alwin Serrao, principal and campus director of Milagres College; Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese; Clyde Adams D'Souza, event coordinator; Floyd Vincent Pinto, student coordinator; and Vijoy Ashwin Cardoza, president of ICYM Mangalore Diocese.
The marathon activities commenced at around 5.20 am at the Milagres College campus with an energetic Zumba session conducted by Hardika Shetty, which created enthusiasm and excitement among all participants. The event was further energized with music and entertainment managed by DJ Vajira. The programme was compered by Floyd Pinto.
Following the warm-up session, the official flag-off ceremony was conducted by the chief guest, Msgr Lawrence Maxim Noronha.
The 10-km run was flagged off at 5.40 am, followed by the 5-km run at 5.50 am, and the 3-km run at 6 am.
The event was conducted smoothly with proper route management, hydration support, volunteer coordination, medical assistance, and police support throughout the marathon route, ensuring the safety and comfort of all participants.

The Reels Making Competition winner was Lavita Vas.
The lucky bib number winner was Shravan (Bib No 10169).
The special trophy for the organisation with the highest number of participants was awarded to the Mangalore Runners Club for registering 75 participants.
The organisers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors, volunteers, staff members, police personnel, medical teams, participants, and supporting organisations for contributing towards the grand success of Apex Run 2026.
The event concluded successfully with the inspiring message "Run Beyond Limits," encouraging people to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
