Mangaluru: 25 NDPS cases registered across city in single day crackdown

Mangaluru, May 24: In a major crackdown on drug abuse, the city police booked 25 individuals under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for consuming illicit drugs across various police station limits in the commissionerate on Wednesday.

The Pandeshwar police arrested Mohammed Raseen (20), a resident of Malappuram district in Kerala, near the Shivanagar ground.

Under the Panambur police station limits, Hasainar (52) of Kankanady Bajal was arrested near Panambur beach. Additionally, Manish (25) of Kotekar Someshwar, Syed Afnan (20) of Falnir, and Hamza (58) of Ullal Bandikotya were apprehended near the Jokatte railway crossing.

The Ullal police arrested Shasil C C and Mohammed Rizwan M K at Shantibagh in Someshwar village. George Mathew (31), a resident of Maryhill Gurunagar, was arrested at a public place behind Yenepoya Hospital in Kotekar village.

The Barke police arrested Vasudeva alias San (48), a Rajasthan native currently residing in Kodialbail Bhagavati Nagar, and Mangalaram Chaudhary (45) of Kudroli at Sultan Battery. Furthermore, old accused Humaid Abdulla (25) of Kundapur and Danish Aran D'Cruz (24) tested positive for drug consumption during a medical examination.

The Konaje police arrested Arun T (27) of Holavanahalli in Koratagere, Tumakuru district, at Deralakatte in Belma village, and Mohammed Irshad (37) at Bagambila road in Belma village.

The Kadri police apprehended Mohammed Rabeeh (19) from Kolacherry in Kannur district, Kerala, near Balmatta.

Under the Bunder police station limits, K Sameer (46) of Monkey Stand and Mohammed Basheer (39) of Mangaladevi were arrested near K S Rao Road. Mohammed Sahil (23) of Kasba Bengre was arrested near the north wharf ferry.

The Urwa police arrested Vignesh Shetty (23) of Kumpala, Joel Joseph (25) of Bejai New Road, Ananda Devadiga (28), and Salman Khan (26) from Alappuzha, Kerala, near Bejai Anegundi. Ritesh (30) of Ashoknagar and Srijith Shetty (25) of Kotekar Madyar were also arrested near Urwa Marigudi.

Additionally, the Kavoor police arrested Sajan (26), a resident of Kavoor Katte, near the Padushedde railway bridge.
