Mumbai, May 24: Bollywood actor and politician Kangana Ranaut has dismissed rumours about a secret marriage after videos of her wearing green bangles and a mangalsutra went viral on social media.

The speculation began after Kangana was spotted in a pink salwar suit with traditional accessories while leaving a building surrounded by security personnel. The visuals led many social media users to wonder if the actor-politician had tied the knot secretly.

Reacting to the rumours, Kangana shared a video on her Instagram stories clarifying that the look was part of a film shoot.

“I am filming in and around the city every single day. Someone clicked this random picture with character makeup and now I am getting so many phone calls,” she wrote.

Questioning why the look created such a buzz, she added, “Actors play all kinds of roles. I won’t marry secretly, I promise.”

In another Instagram post, Kangana spoke about shooting outdoors amid the ongoing heatwave. Referring to television discussions on rising temperatures, she said people working outdoors face tougher conditions.

“News anchors from their AC studios are complaining about the temperature and heat wave outside. What about those like us who are filming outdoors with loads of added lights and enclosed spaces?” she wrote.

Kangana recently completed 20 years in the film industry after making her debut at the age of 18 with Gangster.

She was last seen in Emergency, which also marked her solo directorial debut following Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

The actor-politician will next be seen in the political drama Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, based on the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. Directed by Manoj Tapadia, the film is scheduled for release on June 12.

Kangana is also set to make her international debut with the supernatural horror film Blessed Be the Evil, slated for release in 2027.
