I Love Going Back to Theatre: Kalki

New Delhi, Mar 14 (IANS): When she is not busy shooting films, actress Kalki Koechlin goes back to her first love - theatre.

"I love theatre, and as long as I have time. It's great to be able to go back to it and give time to it," Kalki told IANS. "I am happy doing theatre, and it's been film after film for a while...so it's nice to get back to theatre, it's a welcome break," she added.

The Indian actress of French descent has studied theatre and featured in several plays before trying her luck in Bollywood.

She landed a role in Anurag Kashyap's 2009 film "Dev D" and went on to feature in films like "Shaitan", "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara", "That Girl in Yellow Boots" and "My Friend Pinto".

She will next be seen in Dibakar Banerjee's "Shanghai" and Vishal Bharadwaj's "Daayan".

In her free time, she had been writing a new play.

"I have finished writing a new play, which I am very excited about. I haven't titled it yet. The subject of the play is death, but the play is actually comical. It's dark comedy," she said.
